Paediatric Neuropsychology involves the appreciation of brain/ behaviour relationships. A brain insult can arise for any of the following reasons: genetic, peri-natal, systemic illness and traumatic insult. A paediatric neuropsychologist will undertake a neuropsychological assessment to identify a child or young person’s current neuropsychological deficits, which will include cognition, behaviour, emotional well being and the impact on daily living skills. A holistic approach encompasses the impact on cognitive, social, emotional and behavioural difficulties so that future issues associated with independent living, employment, and the capacity to manage life and financial affairs.

About Me

I have provided an independent medico-legal paediatric neuropsychology service over the past twenty-five years. Instructions have been approximately 45:45:10 (Claimant, Defendant and Joint instructions). The majority have been in response to claims arising from road traffic collisions and clinical negligence.

I have also provided psychological reports following traumatic events. Throughout this time, I have developed a positive and trusted reputation amongst professional colleagues within the field of acquired brain injury. I strive to maintain a personable, thorough and flexible approach and to tailor services to individual needs. Wherever possible,  I will be responsive in meeting Court deadlines in a timely manner.

High quality neuropsychological assessments and reports for children and adolescents following personal injury/ clinical negligence

To undertake and report back on these in a timely manner. In ordinary circumstances, a report will generally be provided within six weeks of the assessment

I also provide supervision for individuals pursuing a Qualification in Clinical Neuropsychology (QiCN)

To provide well established links to local Independent psychological services where needed

I also provide neuropsychology reports for NPP group (Neuro Private Practitioners), which is an independent  multidisciplinary brain rehabilitation service

Qualifications and Experience

I have over 30 years experience of working with children and young people with a range of neurological disorders, both in terms of undertaking a neuropsychological assessment and providing therapy. I have published research and have contributed to clinical trials, including acquired brain injury. I have had my own Independent Practice in Paediatric Neuropsychology for over 25 years.

I am fully qualified and registered in the following:

  • Full member of the Division of Neuropsychology
  • Specialist Register of Clinical Neuropsychologists (SCRN)
  • Register of Applied Psychology Practice Supervisors (RAPPS)
  • Chartered Clinical Psychologist with the British Psychological Society
  • Health and Care Professionals Council
